There’s an undeniable allure that draws couples to the historic shores of the Mediterranean. But for one particular couple, their dream was an elopement wedding in Split, Croatia; a city where ancient stone streets echo tales of timeless love.

On their special day, I arrived at their quaint hotel, nestled in the heart of Split, accompanied by our skilled hair and makeup artist. With the first blush of dawn painting the horizon, they decided to begin their journey early, desiring the tranquil beauty of the city before it awoke. As we ventured out, the promenade unveiled itself in soft hues, with seagulls playing above and the first sunrays kissing the cobblestones. It felt as though the city itself was waking up to celebrate their union.

From there, we ascended to Marjan city park. This verdant haven boasts panoramic views of Split’s skyline, juxtaposed against the majestic backdrop of surrounding mountains. Beneath the shade of pine and cypress trees and by a 13th-century chapel, they exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony, a moment where time seemed to stand still. As they sealed their promises with a kiss, the historic aura of Split bore witness.

Hand in hand, they strolled back into the city, indulging in sweet ice cream, a delightful end to their short but unforgettable elopement wedding in Split, Croatia.
